thats really interesting, such a small window of manufacture.
its possible that it was redialled very early on, perhaps even at the first
service.
i can imagine a Rolex service watchmaker thinking, ‘we’ve got these new
improved dials so i’ll change the one thats in it, it doesnt need doing, but the
white looks better’.
i’ll be honest, until i looked into it a bit i would have just assumed that
being a european company they would have automatically had metres first on the
dials instead of feet.
Omega did a ltd edition smp 300 with feet first on the dial just for the US
market, but of course Rolex do things differently.
