... To Raymond for owning it!
This is a watch I paid very little interest since its launch. But when it was offered last year in a steel case configuration I started to think about it!
Then, a good friend of mine purchased it and showed me.
I had two points I didn't like too much: first its 42 mm size. This watch should have been made in a 40 mm size and it would be superb. Of course Rolex preferred the present trend towards bigger watches. I can understand that!
Second feature I am not convinced is the flutted bezel. I tell you: I do like fluted bezels and may be it is the best choice for this model which commands with it and crown.
But this bezel is so so shinning! Wow! It is a light catcher and throws light rays everywere and looks like a Pharo on your wrist!
Now the positive side: it got an amazing complication and a very interesting operating system. It is a unique combo of annual calendar and GMT in a superb package. I feel it is THE modern Rolex to own for a collector who has love for the brand and already owns several other models with the coronet on crown.
Well, I' ll make my story short: a few months ago I had to return a very expensive watch to the dealer due to problems I had with it. So I receive a credit which allowed me to buy this watch and save the balance for other future purchases. I haven't put to use yet, except for a few days to be sure it works ok. I learned to fall in love with it in spite of size and hope to get friendly with its Super shining bezel when in use and may be wear will reduce some of its shine.
This is a hell of a watch and find the complication absolutely attractive!
Well... This is just my point of view of course! Plan to put in use in a few more weeks and post some pictures then. (Mine is a black dial version)
Un abrazo mi querido amigo!
