Glad to know you got your SD back from service...
... I can well understand you, because on 2010 I left my own 1680 (1977 vintage) in my local Official Service, and it took two months to be back. The compensation came with the very low charge for the complete movement service, and change of crown tube and plexi: about US $200,00 in the then current exchange, which I feel was a bargain for the main Rolex official service here, which is run by Rolex itself, in their own premises.
I feel you appreciate more your oldie, when you miss it a bit, and count the days remaining to the date promised by the service for completing the job.
I wish you´ll enjoy it so much, and that the waiting was worth it.
Cordial regards, Abel.

My submariner service charge is equivalent to 292 pounds. Not a bad deal comparatively but I do think most things in the UK are more expensive. Good to hear the date change is so precise - sometimes I'm kinda obsessed about this
