Not quite in league of prestige as the recent posts on 16660, or the recent Comex made me even more aware how much I was missing my usual daily companion!!
The service took 7 weeks in the UK, and I received the phonecall it was ready on Christmas eve, but couldn't get to the AD to pick up until this last weekend.
Immaculate - they've done a good job - its the first time its been serviced - 2007 watch.

I understand at one time you received a Rolex report (summary of work as part of the receipt), but all I received with the invoice from the dealer was a booklet - outlining the 10 steps of a service - and a plasticised paper service guarantee.
(oh, and the watch was in a platic box)

The temptation was there to adjust the strap on this standard 14060M sub and stick it on my wrist. But no, I managed to resist - this was bought the month my son was born, and will be his when he is old enough (the age of that will probably alter as he grows up - or not as the case may be!!).
.....and the tempetation to peel off the protective stickers and remove the tags etc was very strong!!!!

Funny to see how absence can make us realize how some of our watches are important for us.
Linked to the birth of your son, this SD is worth any other prestigious elder sister.
Thanks for this refreshing post, my friend.
Best,
Nicolas
A great watch and it is no wonder that you missed it.
Best regards,
George
....and then when you log on here, and see everyone else's watches - you realise your wrist is... 'empty' !! ;-) LOL
cheers Tony
It actually first needed the service over a year ago (gaining time), but the estimate then was 13 weeks, so I figured I could live with 5mins fast a week.
Then I enquired in november at the dealer in Aberdeen, and they said 8weeks. Apparently the service centre in London has recently undergone an overhaul in the process, and hense the improvement.
I figure a few days either side for courrier, and in my case that left 6 weeks for the actual work being done. Perhaps its a volume of work issue. Either way, 7 weeks in my book is pretty good, and is in line with what my Omega has normally taken.
The booklet I received outlines the steps for the service, but gives no charges for various aspects, or extra work.
The cost was in the region of 400 to 500 pounds. Bargin. I'd be pleased to pay that again in the future, having seen and experienced the quality of the work - yes, my manual winding is silky smooth, all of the hands and the markers line up perfectly, bezel is nice and tight, the date is changing bang on midnight, and the surface finish is superb. this is a watch has had a well used life - the case and strap had lots of pretty good scratches.
Its now just like new. Very satisfied Rolex Service customer.
