Hilarious. Yes, I like how playful and un-serious the Green is. Yet it has a Kermit-y authority.... It's perfect for summer isn't it? Looking at the maxi dial today, I really enjoyed the beefy look of the larger minutes hand.. and bold markers. So clear and legible! Perfect! I've never been obsessed with Vintage Rolex (thank GOD!) but I will really enjoy growing old wearing this one as it--and I--become Vintage.
I went to buy some furniture not long ago and the salesman was wearing a cream dial EXP 2... the one so many are looking for and which is worth so much these days... I asked him if he knew what he was wearing so causally at work... and he said he had gotten it for college graduation 20 plus years ago... (my memory of the story anyway) and he said he'll never stop wearing it everyday. It is HIS watch. He was not a collector. Just owned this great old Rolex.
Funny, I was rereading my first post in this thread and I noted that I talked about the watch taking 'a hit' or getting a scratch... This really is proof that I feel the watch is mine and will stay mine, because I am so very very careful with my catch and release watches... This one... Like my salesman's EXP 2 cream dial... is a lifer.
