Ending where I began

Started with vintage Rolex.  Adventured through the world of indies: Voutilainen, Gauthier, MB&F, Gronefeld, Coyon.  And have now returned to where I began.

The dial is actually capturing the sunset and is not tropicalized. It is gorgeous though. The lume has a beautiful creamy white color that glows against the black dial. I find this to be one of the most attractive attributes of the watch, and also quite u...

Maybe i have something will look into the pile.

Yep it’s hard to deny the attraction of Rolex..

When I first started collecting I loathed Rolex. I Felt like it was nothing more than a status symbol. It took me 20 years to truly appreciate Rolex for how grand it is. It is the best dollar/dollar watch one can buy.

Same here.

You and I have both owned many different types of watches

So the fact that we always return to Rolex means something

I started in the same loathing place

Started with Rolex, ventured through the brands for over two decades for “better” and ended back here. There’s more to Rolex than most would imagine, more patents annually than all other brands combined… Beautiful specimen you have there, enjoy!

Looking good!

I like vintage rolex a lot too but just a little stressful in rainy/humid Vancouver

I live in Oregon

My 1675 is pressure tested to 5atm. Better than any modern indie I have ever owned

Forgot to note on my wrist today also like Nico.

I agree. There’s something about Rolex.

Modern or vintage is a side debate. But it just works. Consistently. Classic design. Often imitated but never duplicated. Yours is beautiful. This is my photo from earlier today. ...

Beyond cool!

So in a sense it is an ending. But not a complete one

oh that's serious

 By: blau : September 30th, 2024-12:23
I'm getting near 30 myself and starting to feel as though it's decision time for what kind of watch collecting I'm doing, that I ought to either pare back radically (own only as many as I can give proper wrist time to) or stop worrying about wearing quest...

It's by favorite brand for that reason

I always come back to it

Hummm, this mini dial!
