Rolex

For someone not keen on sports watches and with a penchant for dress watches, it is quite something to actually come across a Rolex that I truly love and adore. While in Brussels for a few hours yesterday, I had the privilege of trying on this day date 36...  

It is to cull the number of watches I have so adding another one especially so early in the new year makes a mockery of the agenda!

Excellent would be if I can keep to the agenda!

since I have got my platinum DD40 with the ice blue dial I am sure that this would be the ultimate keeper in my collection. best bracelet, cool dial, perfect for any occasion, great heft, workhorse caliber, ...

I have never had a day date before. Do you find it easy to adjust the date and day on the watch?

It probably does have a waiting list in many dealers but the one in Brussels seemed not to. And I cannot imagine a one watch collection. I think this might be too heavy as my only watch so perhaps it might be part of a three watch collection

Love that dial!

I thought it would be unbearably heavy but it felt only slightly heavier than the gold Bovet I was wearing.

because you have the option of going for the 40mm version with the blue second hand which I find attractive.

I would only say that some of the wg dial options are also very nice in 36mm and might be worth considering.

but it is the light blue dial which unfortunately is only exclusive to platinum models that has caught my eye.

I picked up the light blue with dark blue roman numerals and smooth bezel a while back and it's lovely.

But I do like some of those wg dials, as I mentioned.

For me, it is either the light blue dial or nothing else from Rolex. Just me
