Absolutely! And this post most helpful to a fellow struggling with which Rolex should be my first...

For the longest while I felt the Explorer (1) was the Rolex for me. But which one—the latest iteration, with lumed 3,6,9, edged the watch away from its original versatility, I felt. And then, which movement, size, etc. But recently—last year or so—I've been struck by the simple versatility of the Oyster Date. Several photos, yours included, have really jumped off the page, waving their hands, "This one! This one!"
So… what advice would you give were I to go down this road. I notice, for example, that the 1500 is generally advertised as a 34, while the 1501 sneeks up to 35. Or is that just different people measuring in different ways? And is there a reference that I really ought to favor? One can get lost in all of the minutia, but a few general guidelines would be greatly appreciated. The simplicity and directness of your watch really stand out to me. A beautiful piece. Thanks again for posting, and
Have a good week! FH
