Having a bright and colorful lume adds another layer of coolness to the design of the watch. I agree with you on dress watches and complications, it's not necessary, and sometimes it can ruin the look of the hands or the dial.

And can ruin the dial also. Who needs to tell the time in dim light when you have a complication on?? We have phones and digital watches for that. Complications are works of art. M.

I for example don't like the silver dial white gold Lange 1 because I feel like the lumed hands look a lot worse compared to the regular ones of other versions

I am a bit stronger in my opinion that most in that lume on hands and dials has stopped me buying many watches. Which I am sure my wallet is thankful for. Serious watches = No lume. M.

with respect to lume I am with you and Nico with one more niche to fill: next to sports models (lume OK) and complicated pieces (lume disturbing) I see myself wearing not so expensive but still complicated (ie chronograph) pieces on leather that are no sp...
