I highly recommend!  A classic that can be worn everywhere and anywhere. A lovely watch IMO.

My favourite Rolex!

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-09:32
For someone not keen on sports watches and with a penchant for dress watches, it is quite something to actually come across a Rolex that I truly love and adore. While in Brussels for a few hours yesterday, I had the privilege of trying on this day date 36...

I have an agenda

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-10:09
It is to cull the number of watches I have so adding another one especially so early in the new year makes a mockery of the agenda!

Excellent!

 By: amanico : January 24th, 2024-10:16

Thanks Nico!

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:36
Excellent would be if I can keep to the agenda!

Vlad's side. :)

 By: amanico : January 25th, 2024-07:24

Definitely! :))))

 By: amanico : January 25th, 2024-08:41

As they say

 By: sham1 : January 25th, 2024-08:48
practise makes perfect!!

That's it! :)

 By: amanico : January 25th, 2024-08:49

:)

 By: amanico : January 25th, 2024-16:38

Go for it

 By: penfriend : January 24th, 2024-10:33
since I have got my platinum DD40 with the ice blue dial I am sure that this would be the ultimate keeper in my collection. best bracelet, cool dial, perfect for any occasion, great heft, workhorse caliber, ...

That is indeed a testament as to how good the watch is!

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:37
I have never had a day date before. Do you find it easy to adjust the date and day on the watch?

takes less than 30 seconds inclusive time setting

 By: penfriend : January 24th, 2024-21:40
was my first one as well and never looked at any other day-date again

Thank you for the feedback!

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:47
That's ok actually.

Definitely a great classic.

I am tempted to agree

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:38
let me see if I can find one in London to save me from flying back to Belgium!

A very versatile watch, Iโ€™m surprised it has no waiting list?

 By: dedestexhes : January 24th, 2024-12:10
Thinking about it, this is the one watch that could be the 1 watch collectionโ€ฆ Dirk

Hi Dirk

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:39
It probably does have a waiting list in many dealers but the one in Brussels seemed not to. And I cannot imagine a one watch collection. I think this might be too heavy as my only watch so perhaps it might be part of a three watch collection

Looks great on your wrist.

 By: Champthekid : January 24th, 2024-13:59
Donโ€™t let it pass you by ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Thank you for saying so!

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:41
God knows when I shall get to see another

Our friend penfriend said it all...

 By: Mike H : January 24th, 2024-15:21
...and the 36mm size fits your wrist perfectly so don't waste your time thinking about it, Just Do it ! as another famous brand is saying

Thanks Mike for the encouragement!

The decision making process gets difficult after a certain price range for me!

Mine says hello!

Simply uber cool and so versatile, what a great choice ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

It is always reassuring when someone else

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:44
is also passionate about the same watch.

What a beauty!

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:43
Thank you for sharing and enjoy your lovely timepiece!

Looks great

 By: TeutonicCarFan : January 24th, 2024-17:58
Love that dial!

Me too! :-)

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:43

Actually not!

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:45
I thought it would be unbearably heavy but it felt only slightly heavier than the gold Bovet I was wearing.

You are fortunate

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:46
because you have the option of going for the 40mm version with the blue second hand which I find attractive.

Superlative!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : January 24th, 2024-21:33
I would only say that some of the wg dial options are also very nice in 36mm and might be worth considering.

Thank you for the suggestion

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-21:47
but it is the light blue dial which unfortunately is only exclusive to platinum models that has caught my eye.

It is quite nice

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : January 24th, 2024-21:54
I picked up the light blue with dark blue roman numerals and smooth bezel a while back and it's lovely.

In white gold?

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-22:11

Available in pt only

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : January 24th, 2024-22:41
But I do like some of those wg dials, as I mentioned.

You are more versatile than I am!

 By: sham1 : January 24th, 2024-22:45
For me, it is either the light blue dial or nothing else from Rolex. Just me

I think you would absolutely rock this.

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : January 26th, 2024-01:22
Just accept how awesome you would look. ...

Lovely dial but

 By: sham1 : January 26th, 2024-06:03
I am less excited about the diamond markers

Yes, I agree

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : January 26th, 2024-11:51
...THAT YOU WOULD LOOK FABULOUS

Don't mean to be an enabler but...

 By: indignantdenial : January 25th, 2024-11:18
I think maybe you should. My argument? You live once; why not!

Thank you for your wise words but

 By: sham1 : January 25th, 2024-21:11
if I did that with every watch that I loved, I cannot imagine how many watches I would have!
