I recently acquired a complete original documentation set for a ref. 6542 at estate auction in Ontario, Canada - no watch, papers only - and I am trying to locate the watch if it still exists.
The details from the documents are as follows:
Case number: 427,354 Movement numbers: 727,499 / 830,670 Reference: 6542 Bureaux Suisses rate certificate dated: 12 November 1958, Le Sentier - stamped "Especially Good Results" Guarantee card dated: 13 May 1959, Manufacturer Geneva
The set is complete and internally consistent across all five documents. The case back date would be Q4 1958, consistent with other 427xxx serials in the census.

The GMT MASTER 6542 is a relatively rare watch. How many were produced, it is hard to say, but if you keep in mind that, according to Rolex is a document dated from December 1959, only 605 of them were imported in the US, we can reasonably guess that for ...

Rolex 6542 mega compilation.
I forgot to make a reply when you posted this mega thread. I was to excited reading it. A real piece of history years in the making to collect all these photos was a work of art. This thread will live a very long life. Merci Nicolas.
