Is patina on the case something undesirable or desirable? To that I can say there are mixed views on that. Secondly should it be removed, will this devalue the timepiece ? Patina is a natural occurrence, so any interference could be seen as negative ? Happy to discuss

Maybe oxidation/tarnish, not patina my friend.

I have the same experience for some of my gold watches. You could easily polish it away using a gold polishing cloth like Towntalk. Hope this helps. Best regards

I agree with one of the earlier replies; it looks more like oxidation then anything else. It can happen if it’s stored in a relatively dark and moist box with little or no air ventilation. You should be able to polish it with soft cloth. If it persists I ...

ask to a watchmaker to look at the calibre as the oxidation is in regard to crown and pushers, IMHO. Cross fingers and keep your watches in a better safe place. Love your Dufourgraph ++++
