Thanks FJX for your comprehensive presentation...

and I agree with your summary that it is a very attractive watch to enter the world of RD. You get a relatively 'affordable' watch with a fine movement that is made and finished according to the criteria of the Poinçon de Genève

The watch also plays well with the delicate balance of classicism and exuberance, emphasis on the former. This is not a small feat!

I very recently had the opportunity to appreciate the watch in the metal and I have to say that in this case I am not as critical towards the rotor finish as you seem to be. I can live with it although I'd be happily spending a few hundred € more for a nicer rotor.

All that said however I think the red gold version is a totally different kind of watch. The balance here easily slides to the exuberant side not only due to case material but also due to the higher contrast and the polished (titanium?) elements on the bezel. Just compare your pictures from your earlier report to the ones you posted here:

Here also the contrast is much higher. The result is that the watch is livelier and probably not as universally wearable as the steel one. This I think is a very clever decision on the side of RD as it offers newcomers and customers with less disposable income a very fine, very versatile watch, whereas other people might be attracted to the golden, more specialised version.

To come back to your comments on the rotor finishing I strongly feel that the gold version really needs a gold rotor. It feels so 'naked' on the back:

Overall I think the watch is a winner. I am certainly looking forward to see the collection evolving!

Cheers,
Magnus
