No, No...it wasn't like that..honest
I had agreed the RD purchase and then, being hopelessly horologically promiscuous, was looking at the upcoming auction catalogues and my roving eye saw the Union, Johannes Durrstein. It is a beautuful, very rare piece and it took my fancy. The auction is on the 10th so I put it on the back burner to see how I felt about the RD. Also I have several of my mistakes up for sale and should any of them sell the Durrstein is good value and terrifically elegant.
So now,, for this brief moment in time, my thirst is slaked!

Now I have been using it for a few days...
and it is a very accurate timekeeper. With a balance of about 14 hours on the wrist and the rest face up it has gained about 2 seconds in a week. Evidence of the hand of the master?
