Wow! I purchased my RD Sympathy 18 months ago for ~$9K (which seemed like a lot at the time) and today I see the same watch posted for sale for over 3 times what I paid. Doesn’t change a thing for me, this is a permanent keeper in my collection, but I am ...

It is a pity that the ethos of the brand has since changed. These watches had always been undervalued and were pretty expensive when brand new so I could never figure out why their used values were so low. Yes, some of the complicated ones had reliability... 

The brand today is lost

I find these watches to be quite beautiful and I am honored to own and maintain one. One of the advantages of owning one is that they are, truly, rare pieces. For his early watches, only 28 were made per version. ...

This type of upward momentum *I would think/hope/pray* will cause Roger Dubuis to at the very least add a heritage line to their catalog, perhaps restoring the nicest pieces of their past such as this. Congrats on the pickup and especially at such a relat... 

My compliments. RD is on an interesting route. Seeing only good design which contains originality, creativity, and prosperity. While the Sympathy i read, uprises in value, it is remarkable. Perhaps i never wear a RD, but see what RD does, it is not bad.

Perhaps a silly question but why are 10,11 and 12 in black the other numbers in red?

Frankly, I think that only a handful of dealers/collectors are behind the pump up in price, not just RD, but in FPJ for example... Unfortunately, there is very little transparency and nobody regulates the watch market. Nice watch nonetheless
