I’m sorry, but I find this most disappointing.

Appreciate the nice write-up, and for sharing this watch. However, this feels like “peak RM.”
My opinions only:
1) The Vaucher base + DD module fails to deliver on the exotic promise of the RM brand. I understand that the cases are made of unusual materials, but you have to draw the line somewhere. This is a supercar with no horsepower.
2) RM has lost the soul of an “independent brand” with these countless marketing tie-ins with other brands and celebrities.
I would normally self-censor a bit in terms of critiquing a watch like this but we just had a thread about the new Frodsham watch which offers something genuinely unique in the realm of wristwatches, and that took real courage and effort to produce...and you could have two for the price of this RM. In my opinion, this is an offense to the collectors who took a chance on RM in the early days of the brand.

I respect your opinion. However, I'll tell you after owning every major brand, there is no better movement I've owned than Vaucher. All of my Vaucher movement RM's have kept time better than any other brand. Period. AP should learn a few things and PP too...

Who cares about this McLaren piece. If you're not buying a McLaren 720, it shouldn't matter to you as you can't buy it. However, I think 500 LE is silly. Buy what you like. RM will be just fine

I can see the idea behind this watch collab with mclaren. But the final outcome its so disappointing and is uncommon for rm releasing le 500 pieces

The date and functions of the chronograph are absolutely blind. This is strange, because the design was developed in collaboration with the designer McLaren.

But I agree, would prefer to McL logo on the case. On the back would make sense. Also, the pricing is mind boggling to me relative to the price of the McL.... just my 5c
