Parrots or parakeets
Sep 18, 2020,11:06 AM
A flog of parrots (officially they are Rose Ringed Parakeets) has settled around the estate here.
Although beautiful birds to see, they are not native birds to this country.
And it's almost impossible to catch them well with a camera.
The reason is simple, they come zooming by at very high speed and their flight path is highly unpredictable with sudden turns.
And when they are landing in a tree they stay there (mostly hidden by leaves etc0 just a few seconds before they move on again.
Getting them with a camera was mission impossible. Or so it seemed.
I must admit, I've been a bit lucky. The flog had settled in a tree right behind our house. And as I stepped on the terrace on the 2nd floor of our house (which is more or less at the same level as the top of that tree (yeah small tree), there was one sitting in clear sight and right in front of my nose.
Aimed, pressed shutter, let it rattle and boem he was gone already.
The next day the flog was in a tree bit further up and got some flight motion although its far from perfect yet.
The first series was at shutter 1/1250, aperture f/4 ISO 400
The second few are at shutter 1/1600, aperture f/5, ISO 720
Thanks for watching
