The Df at around USD 2,000 less (Df body vs. Z7 body + adapter) looks like a bargain if you are just trying to shoot stills with Nikon legacy lenses.  Thanks for the comments on the Fuji XT3... at the moment I don't shoot professionally so much of my interest is... just because I am interested ; )

One complaint about the Z6/7 from professional shooters is that there is only one card slot... YMMV.  The Z6 is about USD 1,500 less than the Z7 (body only) - I haven't compared the specs.

I will take a closer look at the XT3.

Took a look at the Nikon Z7

While not available in stores here until the end of September, the local had one on display and I spent a few minutes working with the new mirror-less full frame kit. Then for fun I tested it with a non-cpu manual focus 28mm Ai S in aperture mode. You can...

I saw this review....

I tend to agree with them that the camera does invoke emotion... and the video content seemed to be more about "their review" than the actual camera... anyway a sample of different reviews / comments out there... are you interested and will you take a loo...

:) occasion permitting,

absolutely. It would be interesting to compare with my brother's Sony 7RII. Cheers, Filip

I’m not sure a see the point of a smaller mirror less body with a huge lens

I would like to see a small, compact Nikon body with a small but powerful lens, a la what Leica produces. I love my D800 but at times really wish I had something smaller, lighter and more discrete.

Get a micro 4/3? [nt]

Can’t give up full frame sensor for many reasons

This is what’s so appealing about the Z7 in my book. Same with the M.cameras. Would just like to see smaller lenses for the Nikon. However, I’m reading that the Z7 may be able to shoot M lenses with adapter to be produced.

Well in theory...

Leica M to Nikon F mount adapters exist, Nikon F to Nikon Z mount adapter exists... Ergo Leica M to Nikon Z mount should be possible, but so far I can't find anything in production... maybe it's a matter of timing ; ) Casey

My understanding as well....

The Z7 with kit lens handled very nicely...

Not too heavy, and still big enough that the fingers were not jammed up. I am guessing the Z lenses are mostly plastic, but even with the Z to F adapter and the (built like a brick) manual focus 'Ai 28 S' it still rode easy. I am not a big fan of overly s...

This might be a perfect camera for me if the 50 1.2 sits well on it and is Leica-style compact.

I’m also interested to know what the battery grip will look like.

I think we are seeing more contenders coming on to the mirrorless bandwagon now with Nikon and Canon throwing their hats into the ring as well. While this has been in a sense pushed by Sony with their A series bodies, there is now alot more options for ph...

with all "huge" lenses for Z series, coming is EOS-R also huge Thanks Casey

Yes the native Z mount lenses (only 3 at the moment) tend to be big...

and the overall feel is as if a small (not tiny) dSLR. The mount is great for adapters and we should see more than a few in the coming months. The Z7 doesn't slot in with my current requirements but I am still very interested to see output results from ea...
