I think you're talking about Manfrotto. Be careful, timer delayed shooting will not impede the mirror to open and close

When you take a picture, the mirror will open and close. This opening-closing movement can make your camera slightly shake. Despite the fact it's a slight movement, it can still blur a little bit your picture (it's more noticeable when using a telephoto lens).
To avoid this, set your D7500 on MUP (Mirror up mode) as pictured below.
When ready to take the picture, press the shutter release button once (this will open the mirror and will leave it open), then press a second time to take the picture. As mirror is already open, you'll avoid to blur the pic by the movement of the mirror. Indeed, you need to use a remote control (IR remote control, or the one you can connect on your camera) to avoid to move the camera by pressing the shutter release button by hand.
