Both are really interesting, but I prefer the 2nd, it more organic to the surroundings.
When in Joshua Tree, CA recently, there were two houses/buildings, I wanted to see and capture on photo and clip:

It is just incredible. But, mind you: if you do not have a drone at hand, you will see nothing of the house ...
