Beauty in tragedy.
Your images imbue the tragic end of these structures with poetic visual framing.... I am getting my camera tomorrow, and while I won't have enough time to immediately go and take my first images with it, it won't take me more than a few days to devote the time to visit my local Pier, and pay hommage to Casey the best way I can conceive of doing. A year and a half ago, when discussing a few of my pictures he suggested I revisit the exact same location in order to take pictures of much higher quality due to the complex light and textures which provide for an endlessly interpretive visual environment.... I will do exactly so, as quickly and effectively as I can possibly manage. Cheers, Filip

Great photos! Typhoon Hayian or Yolanda as we called it locally in the Phils was devastating, I remember for living it, and being part of the first responder, just a day after it striked.
This sailboat could be from the more rescent Typhoon Odette that was also extremely violent in the visayas.

Thanks for the info. I was at the back end of things providing logistical support for one of the companies here. Devastating for sure. According to one army general that I had to coordinate with for transport, the reported death toll was quite understated...

The boats almost seem to have become part of the landscape. My son and his girlfriend are currently visiting there. 😊
