This weekβs theme will be pens but the rule doesnβt change : please vote for one of the three and more important tell us the reason(s) of your choice. It might be the composition of the photo that speaks to you, or the lighting, the colours, or the pen it...
Graf is the premium line of Faber Castell
By: Mike H : December 6th, 2020-17:30
Finishing is perfect and they are made of the best materials and perfectly assembled. The nibs are writing smoothly on the paper. No flex as it is not a vintage nib of course but absolutely perfect for daily use at it writes absolutely perfectly. Dependin...
GvFC Intuition Platino wood
By: Cardio : December 7th, 2020-22:11
All good, except that there is a tendency for the nib to dry out even while (snap-)capped. The intuition platino wood is possibly the next pen after 'POTY' equal with all the manufacturing merits except for the price, specific year to year design and prec...
Yes I know the Intuition Platino wood
By: Mike H : December 7th, 2020-23:37
It is the same pen as the Elemento except that the Elemento is made of olive wood instead of grendilla wood. The POTY ones have a screwed cap while the Intuition/Elemento have a snap cap but I have a drying problem of the nib with neither of them. Maybe b...
These are truly three iconic pens β

But, my immediate or gut reaction was to go with the GvFC β the color of the barrel, the contrast with metal cap, the overall composition simply sing out to me. A certain elegance for sure.
Many thanks for your kind words

Definitely that GvFC pen is really beautiful without extravaganza, I love this pen (but to be honest I love the two others too π)
Lovely photographs...

The subject matter lends itself to a series rather than individual images. The lighting seems to match each individual pen. As well the 'setting' complements the uniqueness of each instrument. If forced to choose, it would be the second photo with the bea...

Not an easy decision for a pen aficionado
By: JLCman : December 7th, 2020-04:18
But I would prefer the Faber Castell. Why? Because of its beauty, the workmanship, and the soul of an family owned business. And of course because FC produces some of the very best nibs in the world. Only topped by the Japanese Big Three (Pilot, Sailor, N...

Your challenges are becoming increasingly more difficult. Especially this one: product photography; in my view even more difficult than portraits. I find it this time very difficult to chose between photo 1 and 2 and place them both on the first spot. Pho...

Glad you like them and I always welcome constructive comments. FYI this first photo was not intended to land only here on the forum but it was an order from a professional for being published in a BtoB brochure. I fully agree with your comment but it was ...

The Pelikan. I like the sterling silver work that makes a perfect combo with the green. And no doubt the performance it will be flawless.

...you are so right about the notebook in the background. I actually got it from my grandmother's apartment. It was in the drawer of a cabinet but I have unfortunately no clue about the history of this notebook. Most probably it is related one way or anot...
