I don't get to see many urban coyotes close up, let alone an injured one (this ones been surviving and thriving in the area for 3-4 years) but this one teaches a lesson. This wild animal can be dangerous, if provoked, it's their survival instinct, but they can also have humility. This huskie got away with its life, it tried to interact with the coyote, it was warned several times and then the coyote moved on. To spice up the scenario, both were on ice that was precarious and held huge current, the owner tried recalling the huskie (over 30 times) all attempts failed, proper training could have prevented the encounter. The images, I think are stunning and probably one of my best shoots.
