And to answer your question—

I wish I learned earlier how to consider and use pockets of lights as a subject. I am very into this point of view at the moment. There’s a photographer I really admire called Pctavian Carare who has a YouTube channel who is a master of this. I love the perspective because it incorporates decisive moment, managing light, geometry, candids, and street photography all in one. Very difficult but rewarding process. Check out his videos on YouTube. He shoots a Q2.

With regard that Bukowski quote, I could not agree more. To quote a similar one from Salgado, “There is no style. What is inside you comes out.” I’ve enjoyed my journey with the camera. It is quite the mistress

Great advantage if you're printing large and seeing the processed results helps you in setting up for the next shot... e.g. learning / expanding your own and the kit's range of what's possible -and- getting more of what you want. AND of course RAW is not ...

Thank you Echi...

Thanks for great post. I have not (yet) read these books like some others did. Nor am I that far advanced yet to fully grasp all thats possible. What I do know is that looking backwards I feel a transition in how I look at photography. And to me there are...

Worked for O’Keeffe and Stieglitz. I didn’t take much interest in that fact when I was younger and he was still alive and I now wish that I had and asked him about it. Lovely photo

Not talking to your grandfather about his experience was a missed opertunity ;-)

The life and story of O'Keeffe and Stieglitz is fascinating and their impact was far reaching. I have been to the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe and would love to someday visit Ghost Ranch near Abiquiú, New Mexico. Thanks for the nice comment on the ...
