Desire to own the 5100R
Hi,
I always wanted to buy the 5100R or 5100G for collection. Though i find the size to be thin and small for my wrist but somehow the idea of owning one always gives me the pleasure. Do you think it would be wise to indulge at this stage with prevailing pricing and since the watch has been in th emarket for 12 years, one really has to find one in a pre-owned market and then spend money to get it fully srviced from the factory as it would be due on mainly all the pieces around.
What are your thoughts? With the same budget one can get a used 5960p .....
Any advice.....

I'd get the G model, mostly because I prefer the blue dial I would also say that comparing to the 5960 isn't really a good compare, except on price. The 5960 is an excellent piece with an important movement for Patek's history, but it's also, based on my ...

Just yesterday I picked up some watches from complete service done by Patek in Geneva. It is amazing what they can do: the watches come out like new and the costs are not huge. My wife got a vintage watch back: they made a full service to the movement, ne...

I have had on the 5960p blue dial. Totally different pieces. I pined for the 5100 for two years, never having it on my wrist. Why? The movement for me was beauty. I don't find the 5960 movement visually interesting. The case of the 5100 is very unique. Th...

I am very sorry the quality is poor. I need to get a proper lighting system. But these three illustrate the point I was making earlier in the thread. I promise I will do better and post a stand alone thread on this watch. Best, Joe Sorry the pix loaded tw...

all the way over 5960 as it is limited edition and production already ceased whereas 5960 you can still buy it from a dealer anytime now. I have the 5100R (acquired in 2nd hand market) and still love it every time I have it on my wrist. As you said it you...
