I have had on the 5960p blue dial. Totally different pieces. I pined for the 5100 for two years, never having it on my wrist. Why? The movement for me was beauty. I don't find the 5960 movement visually interesting. The case of the 5100 is very unique. The applied numerals of the 5100 is of vast interest to me versus the 5960. They also satisfied my lust of the 5070p which I could not bring myself to afford. The blue dial is a killer there is more blue than in the 5960. I love the power reserve and it's red pointer. It winds beautifully, albeit it takes a while for the ten day reserve. Over 100 winds.
Please don't misunderstand. I would love a 5960p and a 5070p. But money and value matters to me. I own a 5980a so I have the chrono dial design in my collection. All are desirable pieces. The 5100g s a rare piece. BTW even though mine is used it keeps accurate time to two seconds a day so I did not feel the need for immediate service.
My only complaint? The curved sapphire causes reflections so at times it is difficult to read. Really difficult to wrist scan. But this is a wonderful piece. I am in total love. One other thing, this is not a small watch. It wears nicely but it does wear thicker with the curved sapphire. No matter, after waiting so long I have no regrets.
Best to you in your decisions.
