Just yesterday I picked up some watches from complete service done by Patek in Geneva. It is amazing what they can do: the watches come out like new and the costs are not huge.
My wife got a vintage watch back: they made a full service to the movement, new crown, the case was fixed and polished, the bracelet was shortened and polished plus the watch got a new glass. Total costs were much below 2 k in the Swiss currency.
So making a complete service is not that expensive if thinking about the value of the watch. The whole thing took 12 weeks.
