Old & new shoes for Patek 5040 - thoughts?

Hi everyone. I really like the red croc strap, but it has cracked almost entirely through from the inside after more than 20 years of use. So which do you like - cognac croc or blue marbled calfskin. Dress up or dress down (not that the croc is particularly dressy? The warm croc plays off the case nicely, whereas the blue plays off the moon phase disc and the white stitching sort of plays off the silver dial (a stretch, and I'm not sure if I like the mismatch - a silver stitch would be better). Or perhaps another red croc?

The cognac is just flawless, you can't go wrong with such a classic and elegant case/alligator combo...while the blue calfskin seems to add lots of versatility to an otherwise very classy watch. So both good, but if I had to choose one, probably #2 ;-)

Cognac or red would be more formal. The blue more casual. Btw nice Patek perpetual calendar. 😊

It's hard to go wrong with this one - blue, brown, black, red. Just about anything but a nato or stingray would look good. I'm just having fun with this beautiful watch that I'm blessed to own. Cheers everyone.

The new croc is too narrow and needs to be 1mm or 2mm wider between the lugs. The colour of the blue non-croc looks good, but doesn't have the croc's class. So, is the answer a blue croc that fits?
