You have the answer

I know this is the usual and possibly easy answer, but it is also the only true one : only YOU can choose according to YOUR taste.

The only thing we here can do is tell you what we would do if we were in your shoes (difficult exercise!).

You have already partly answered when you said it is your 1st Patek and for daily wear : IMHO this eliminates the golden Ellipse even if it is a very nice watch (actually there are many nice watches in PP collection so this criteria is far to be enough to make a decision).

If you then concentrate on the balance, this leaves you with 5711 vs 5167. Nautilus and Aquanaut might have some similarities (G. Genta design with the octogonal shape case, very flat case and comfortable to wear, very versatile...) but on the other hand the general look is quite different probably because of the bracelet (steel vs black composite). I personally choose the Aquanaut which I enjoyed a lot the whole summer (alligator strap on complicated watches obviously not adapted to summer holidays) but it is a pure question of personal taste.

Finally take the advice of amanico and Oliver: no rush for such a decision specially if you have doubts. Also are you sure you should limit your choice to Nautilus or Aquanaut if it is your first Patek? Take the time to read some quite interesting recent threads (Quintessentially Patek, Baron review about 5167, and many others comparing Aquanaut vs Nautilus). Did you also consider a nice and simple Calatrava for example? Calatrava is so iconic and there are so many different designs (5127 or 5227, 5123, 5119, 5196, 5153...) that it is worth considering this option specially for a first Patek.

and at the end after many hours of reading threads on PuristS, and trying the watches on your wrist at your favorite AD, and thinking instead of sleeping, you will then come to the end of the route and take YOUR decision you are sure of (whether Aquanaut, Nautilus, Calatrava or any other...). Let us know what you finally decide...
