Thanks a lot for this. I love those reviews that describe the character of a watch, instead of describing their features and properties. Even if by nature, describing the character of a watch is always subjective, to me this is what it comes down to! Ther... 

I think the 5170 to be executed very well, but I would have liked a bit more personality. However, I understand this is also a quality (being understated), especially for the 5170g. You described it very well.

But I can see why one would choose the VC CdV over the 5170g.

I agree with your opinion on all three references. For me personally the top is the 5170G, because as you said, it’s the most mature and restrained with the punch for the trained eye. For me it’s the watch that when in your wrist, makes you fit in every e... 

You could wear it with the most outfits and to the most different occasions. The 5170P is imho the "hardest" to match. There are still plenty of occasions to wear it, but it's not a as good as a daily wearer.

my personal fav is 5172G, as you've mentioned have a tinge of sportyness or non-serious in nature !! you've well captured the essence of them. Best, mahesh.,

As for the watches, 5172G is my choice too, cool refined and sophisticated at the same time, strong presence without show off, I love it

I wonder, what I'll think about them in a few years.

I usually don't have several watches of the same type and if so, they are less different in character.

I’m a longtime fan of the 5170G. When one looks at the G and P together they are such different watches, dial colour yes, but also dial layout, sub dials etc. And of course those diamond markers. I can completely understand why owning both makes perfect s... 

...it would be a tougher choice if there were leaf hands involved...

Your observations are spot on. Of the three the 5172 does have slightly more appeal, as it’s a formidable piece yet doesn’t take itself too seriously.

I bought a 5170P a few weeks ago, but I can't get the 5170G out of my head and I don't have the budget for both. I like the description you made of the G and I think it's the watch I would get more long term enjoyment out of. It's more refined, more flexi...

P or G is definitely not an easy choice, I wouldn‘t know, which one I‘d sell first, if I had to. On the other hand, if I‘d only have one and could only have one, I‘d probably stick ith the one I already have until I‘m completely sure I wanted to change. ... 

even if I like the 5170 case design and your 2 models in G & P, I admit that the 5975P case design should be a great addition to your comparative post/ collection. My 2 cents. Enjoy your beauties +++++ ...
