Actually it’s more that I love the VC Cornes de Vache so much
I think the 5170 to be executed very well, but I would have liked a bit more personality. However, I understand this is also a quality (being understated), especially for the 5170g. You described it very well.
The VC Cornes de Vache is also a great chrono. I've tried one on in the past. I didn't buy it, because it was slightly too small for me, being almost 2m tall.
But I can see why one would choose the VC CdV over the 5170g.

Thank you, ZSHSZ. I agree with you. The 5170g is, if it matches your character and style, the most versatile of the three. And it's a very nice exit watch.
You could wear it with the most outfits and to the most different occasions. The 5170P is imho the "hardest" to match. There are still plenty of occasions to wear it, but it's not a as good as a daily wearer.

Yes, I also think, that the 5172g is more refined. But some edges can be good for the long term interest in a watch. A very refined design can possibly become boring at some point in time.
I wonder, what I'll think about them in a few years.

I usually don't have several watches of the same type and if so, they are less different in character.
Not owning any of these, but being somewhat facials with them, I think your assessment is perfect.
