For me the 5711 wins against any other model of this design.
Prefer the simplicity without all the other complications messing up the dial.
+1 AR for me on friday + 5980R leather for the power meeting monday

Both incredible watches. Personal taste of course and being able to purchase one. My preference is 59801a-001 in steel as a sporty chronograph and the 57111r for more formal occasions....am I biast...? 😉😄 ...

The 5711. Both are wonderful and not to offend anyone, but I think any iterations of the Nautilus with pushers takes away from the lines of the original Genta designed case. However I don't feel pushers conflict with the Aquanaut case.
I would prefer the 5711 R.
Make it simple! For me the 5980 in RG is a little bit hefty...
As an existing owner of 5711-1R
I'm biased so this will be my choice. The 5980-1R is too chunky and heavy.
Hard to compare, but here s my view
5711R is slim and elegant, would go well with your shirt cuff while 5980R is much more robust, and sportier, it won't fit well under your shirt cuff due to its sheer size. The rest is up to the user s daily habits
