Trying to find out more about the history of some recently purcased models

May 25, 2023,04:13 AM

Started a business 7 years ago and used the proceeds from selling all 3 of my PPs: 5135R, 5960P and 5110J, to get the business off the ground. No regrets....it worked out well.

Luckily, during the last few moths was fortunate to re-acquire some models and add the PPs back to my watch collection.

Of course, I've spent a good amount of time using Google and some other search engines gathering various information, but did not succeed to find out all the info I was after.

Hoping that some of the members here that bought these same watches around the same time, could chime in.

5131J
- my dial has the original configuration of the cities (i.e like the 001 dial) but the Certificate of Origin shows 5131J-014 which would suggest that the watch shouid have the updated disk with all the cities (the certificate is dated in 2015 and the purchaser's name was filled out as * Anonymous*...which I found interesting).
- I wonder if there is a mistake with my Certificate ?

5711:
IIRC, 5711G (J & R) were made only from 2007 to 2009.
- what were the MSRPs for the *G* model when it was introduced in 2007 and when it was discontinued in 2009?
- Since Patek introduced the PP seal in 2009, did any of these 3 models made towards the end, come with the PP seal or did all of them come only with the Geneva seal?
- did all 3 have only the 324 caliber, or did the earliest ones come with 315 (just like the first 5711/A)

5496P:
Recently I purchased 2015 5496P with the hone!y-brown dial.
- and what year was it discontinued?
- what years was the honey-brown dial offered on 5496P

5960P:
- what year was the 5960P with the original gray slate dial discontinued?

5135P:
- when was it discounted? (2014 ?)

5123R:
- what were the production years

Im not asking about prices *because I bought these watches as an investment* Not at all. Im very much a watch nerd going back to 1996. The market prices are what they are and it does not matter to me. This time I'm planning to keep these wonderful watches for many (MANY!) years.

I'm just trying to find all possible details about my watches.

Thank you kindly in advance for your input

Moderator Edit: Pricing information removed because they do not add to the aficionado experience.  Thank you for your understanding.

And can definitely understand the "nerdiness" point, I'm the same looking for as much as information on my watches as I can, However, these details are typically a work of research and not coming from the back of the mind..... Therefore, as its really wor...

Thank you 👍

They made the 5160P?

5160 is the engraved perpetual calendar with flyback and officer's case. I didn't know they made a P version. I adore the G version - reminds me of an engraved Purdey hunting rifle or trapshooting shotgun. Or are you referring to the 5960P?

We're very happy for you and your business!

5131J: I don't think that there's a big problem. Anonymous is not uncommon and standard procedure for an AD to put in this if the client doesn't want to assign the watch to an individual. As for the dial 001 or 014, I don't recall the difference, so can't...

I appreciate your feedback very much.

The Patek Philippe 5135P was discontinued in 2011. It was introduced to the market in 2004 and was produced for only seven years. The platinum examples were made for the shortest amount of time, only from 2006 until 2011. The distinctive and elegant case ...

My 5131J is also 014

Anonymous is totally fine as long as the AD is named and the certificate is authentic. My 014’s city ring for your reference ...
