Traveling with Patek
Fellow purists, I have a trip to Madrid then Singapore and I would like to bring a few watches with me. I feel very confident in the safety of Singapore, but would you feel comfortable wearing a 5711, or the more low key 5164 in Madrid? . Or I could simply wear my Apple Watch on that leg and then switch to another. For the Spanish purists, do you feel Madrid is a safe place to openly wear a Patek. I will be in all parts of the city, not just the same old tourist versions. V much appreciate your thoughts...

Exactly, try to avoid showing them in tourist areas
and late nights but no worries the rest of time. I wear mines all the time and never heard a bad story from relatives or the watch community here. I can’t say the same about Barcelona and it’s getting worse lately. Enjoy your trip!

I guess it depends where you where the watch but (please forgive me Spanish purists) I have heard of too many pick pocketing and theft incidents in Madrid.
I would say that your Pateks are safe on your wrist
No problem daytime at "normal" areas, be a bit cautious at night like at most if the big cities in the world. As a general rule, behave normally and better remain "under the radar" of the potential "bad guys", but nothing that I wouldn't do everywhere els...
Think about getting a carnet to avoid custom dutys if you get unlucky
Multiple expensive watches and a stingy border controll migth end up costing quite a bit.
I was in Madrid last
October with my 5164, but under the cuff at all times. I was out till late but with locals and with no issues. As in all big cities, try to avoid crowds... Safe travels nonetheless.
