The thing is that, MAYBE, Patek less worked the decoration of its new movement...
Because they are thinking more about " mass production ", while the production of Lemania chrono movements by Patek was more, much more confidential. They had more time to better decorate it.
The leaf hands, the case, the dial of the 5070 are much more my taste. Subjective, yes.
The new movement may be technically superior to the Lemania. But the Lemania will stay stuck in my heart.
When I think Patek, I think confidential. All the things which turn in more " massive " production, at that level of price, well, don't sound well with the image I have of a brand like Patek, too.
For all these reasons, the 5070 will always be over the 5170.
And when you look at the window shops here and there, it seems that I am not alone to think like this.
But, to each his own, for sure!

That's a problem
If you consider that in Paris there are quite a few long-time collectors, it means you have great chances to never get a limited version if you're a "normal" client with 2 or 3 pieces. This is indeed a problem.

but frankly, if I can't get one from the Salon, it will be hard from Wempe too. I asked them for the 175th 5975 chrono but they didn't receive any of this kind of pieces. I know what I'll have to do next time :) Cheers, Mark
