And that when you want to buy something you really like, it seems to be problematic. I ordered the 5070P, it was a fiasco. Even if I was the first on the list, am still waiting for it. :) I asked for the G, and the Patek salesmen told me... " Don't dream ...

If you consider that in Paris there are quite a few long-time collectors, it means you have great chances to never get a limited version if you're a "normal" client with 2 or 3 pieces. This is indeed a problem.

but frankly, if I can't get one from the Salon, it will be hard from Wempe too. I asked them for the 175th 5975 chrono but they didn't receive any of this kind of pieces. I know what I'll have to do next time :) Cheers, Mark

I ordered the blue dial Reverso in the re-opening of JLC Paris Boutique. Inguess I was among the first ones. I contacted JLC Consierge Service several times. No reply. I tried to order the watch from JLC Singapore Boutique and finally no reply... How did ...

personal opinion ofcourse but I really think it is not special enough to become a 'special' watch, like said just a simple calatrava with chrono function So imo the 5170 lacks some personality The 5270 on the other hand Untill last year I preferred the 59...  

I would just say the 5170 is a compeltly different watch: it plays a classical and more dressy role, thus it is less interesting if we prefer watches with more character. A simpler watch will always have more difficulties in appealing to someone. As for t... 

I can't deny 5170 is a nice PP for sure, but the one that talks to my heart, the one that brings emotion to me and has haunted my thoughts for long before I find the opportunity to pull the trigger is the 5070. And I did not hesitate for one second when I...

The 5070 and 5170j or g are manual wind chronos , very smooth to wind as i tried to wind my friends 5170j. Thanks for your write up on patek chronos mark. Enjoyed the read. Best. Geross.

IMHO the 'simple' case design of the 5170 is the reason the reference gets less enthusiasm from collectors. Ofcourse this is a matter of personal preference. Also I have the feeling that once the ref gets discontinued it will be more appreciated in the co...  

I especially agree with your 2 first sentences. Those shots make both watches very appealing and I must say the 5170G looks perfect on your wrist :) Its dial is beautiful with the Pulsometric scale and subdials decoration... I love it. Thanks for your inp...
