The technical issues on the 5004s were on the earlier models
and Patek resolved the issue when the watch was sent to service. The 5204 is a beautiful watch but in my opinion 5004 is the ultimate classic. Only time will tell which watch will be treasured more by collectors. Many people missed out on the 5004 because they thought it was too thick as a " hamburger " or the technical issues. Kind of reminds me of the now highly desirable 5020, the " TV " watch that no one wanted to buy. Oh well.

Technical issues were largely pre-2003, and Patek serviced many of them. Any idea how many 5004s were produced in which metal / dial colour?

I could be mistaken here but I have heard from sources that Patek
only made about 12, 5004s per year. I also think collectors have spoke when the last 5004A was released and it's now going for crazy money in the secondary market.
