Patek Philippe

The connection is key

Manual wind offers you a tangible, intimate connection with your watch - you cannot just strap it on, you need to give it energy, most often each day. Manual wind movements are also slimmer due to the absence of a rotor, useful to note if you value that.
At the same time if you do not have many watches and are after convenience automatic is a way - don’t think about it, just wear it regularly and you will be fine.
Personally I do not have a manual watch right now, but I fondly remember winding my Chronomètre Bleu each day after waking up. I will most likely pick the new Calatrava which is a manual wind for that same reason.
