The adventures of a blue crosshatch dial
The Patek Philippe ref. 3585 has had multiple variants, among which some had an electric blue textured dial with ‘x-strokes’ or crosshatch or crossed shard-like pattern.

The case measures 36 x 42 mm and is 7.4 mm thick. The watch is powered by cal. 350 with bi-directional peripheral rotor and a backwind crown.

Fascinating dial. The back crown is interesting - had not
seen that before. I wonder how the comfort is with it in that position.

you simply don't feel it! Audemars Piguet's reference 25643 also has a backwind crown: check here .

It's the crown.

Yes, Golden Ellipse is what is usually said,

Do you know how this effect is produced? From the tropical dial, it looks like the dial (material?) is scratched (?) and then lacquered. Is that it? This is my supposition as the lacquer seems to detach itself from the dial material. Thanks! Best, E.
