That’s terrible
I hope Patek does right by your friend. It can happen to any brand but have been seeing stuff like this more and more from Patek, esp on the movement side. They have lost their edge.

It is a matter of good eyes. A dial replacement is an option. With a special cloth, the hair scratch can be removed by a Patek certified watchmaker.
There is a scratch on the dial. People are talking about the lines but they are confused.
To the left of the P in "Patek" there is a mark on the dial.

I bought my first Patek, well 2, Ladies and Gents 18kt.&SS Nautilus in 1986. I believe that makes 35 years for me and HSWA in New York always took good care of me
This is just how impressive..My model 3800 had a split stem crown that kept coming out of the case.

there maybe another way to look at the fault of the lines not being uniform
this mistake could make this watch a one off and very valuable watch and a multiple of the price paid for it just a thought!!
I had a similar problem after my watch went for a service.
When I asked the question I was told by Patek subtle "irregularities" are not usually picked up during the QC because the watch is only inspected at a distance of 15-20 cm. My dial was replaced quickly and free of charge but the watch came back with a scr...
