Thanks for your post!
According to my AD, the 7234A has now been fully allocated. How it works normally is when the pieces are released it is always best to place an order with one's AD as soon as possible. From what I have been told, VIP clients from South East Asia were invited to the Gala dinner in Singapore and were given first shot at the limited editions. Many ordered the Aquanaut while the 7234A was also pretty popular. The remainder of the watches were then allocated to Patek customers in South East Asia who are clients but perhaps who have not bought enough to have been invited to the dinner. The allocation was done by Patek South East Asia rather than by each individual AD.
Now. I am NOT a Patek customer in South East Asia although I have somewhat a special relationship with the Malaysian AD having been a customer since 1992. Nevertheless as the allocation decision is made by Patek South East Asia and the last Patek I had bought from my Malaysian AD was the 3820R in 1995, I remain quite baffled and extremely grateful that I was allocated a piece.
The next exhibition is in Tokyo in 2022 and it would not be a bad idea to start buying Pateks from a Patek AD in Japan! The Japanese are notoriously good when ti comes to designing special editions for their market and I look forward to 2022 with much anticipation!
