I still like this watch, but I ordered a 5131G in 2009, only special ADs could put down an order then and I had to contact Patek to ask them if I am "worthy" to buy this watch by telling them which Patek timepieces I already own...Finally they agreed to sell me a 5131G. At that time there were about only one or two grey market pieces for 130k available ( in Damascus!!) , so it really was a rare watch for a fair retail price at the AD at that time. After three years I reminded Patek that they had promised to deliver the 5131G for me and they answered it will be delivered within the next one or two years as they only produce minimal numbers, BUT: at that time there were already dozends of them available, used or grey market with slightly falling prices, the PP retail price going considerably up and up so I lost interest and cancelled my order.
well, I still like it , but I am afraid it is not so rare any more as it was at the beginning.
PP 5231/ 5131 still worth collecting?
Hello, when 5131 first came out these pieces where extremely rare and second hand retail price was three times the list price, now there are so man of them on the market ( preowned unworn ones and used ones) that I wonder if they are still worth collectin...
But the typeface on the 5131 is hard for me to overlook : )

Rounded, curvy than the 5231 more straight. If you get a good price, it is a watch for a lifetime !
I think these has been relatively stable in terms of asking prices, gray or used, over many many years.

... Rare, wearable, beautiful, classy, contemporary.... It is a fantastic piece and I simply adore mine. Worth every penny.
AD and / or Salon do not want to source me 5231G.
Looking at 5131G as I prefer the world dial anyway. I looked at the past 12 months sale at auction fot 5131 and prices are very closed to the 5231G retail one.

5131G and then 5131P. She and her team are not involved in 5231s. You can see the difference between 5231 enamel dials vs 5131G & P.

To me, the proper comparison is 5231G vs
5131R which are produced by the same team with similar techniques. Putting them side by side, you would be able to see if improvements have been made.
you are ahead of yourself... 5231R is not out yet, you obviously mean 5231 J and G.
btw, when are we expecting 5231R? next year?
