1) Repeater
I am a huge fan of anything musical. And having a minute repeater is a temptation.
But from the logical point of view repeaters are quite fragile and they are not as useful as before.
The first serious watch in my watch journey was a marvellous JLC Memovox that’s known for its long and loud alarm. Despite the fact that this complication is super handy I rarely used it as a phone alarm is more reliable and comfortable. The same goes for chronographs. It is nice to have it but if you really need the measure smth you are more likely to use a phone.
That’s why I don’t think I will buy a repeater anytime soon. But i definitely do not discard such a possibility😆
PP repeater that I like the most (5750) at the moment is really far from my reach.
As far as 5101 goes - the tourbillon is excessive and only makes the watch less reliable. But if this watch didn’t have it - it wouldn’t get all other features like proper hand finishing.
2) Laurent Ferrier tourbillons are sublime. The finishing is there, they are adequately thin and LF dials are fine.
It is quite funny as I actually thought about LF. In my humble opinion LF is a fair competition to 5101. I considered the sport model made of titanium with a bracelet but as I have several sport watches I am not sure I bill benefit from the third.
To be honest I suppose that 5101 is overall a tiny bit better than LF. Mostly because of the access to servicing in any part of the world.
