Patrickh, having roughly measured the depth, I would set it at about 17mm
Mostel, I hear what you are saying, not sure whether the slight increase in the font, is part of a new trend or something else, perhaps PP believe that our eyesight is getting worse
Imran, I too love the lugs, for me it makes this piece very unique. We shall have to wait and see whether PP continue in this vain next year Basel?
Also, whenever I look at the sculptured lugs, they always reminds me of torpedo tubes opening on a Submarine!
Jerome, I would be interested in what you think, when you have been able to try one on again?
Nomer, thank you for your kind words. Yes I believe that they have slowly been released over here during the past two months. In fact I know of two further AD's who have had deliveries.
PP, I see that nothing gets passed you
I thought that it was about time, that I updated it and what better time then now. I hadn't thought about a brown strap, but the next time I call into an AD, I see what a dark brown strap would look like.
ebcohn1, have you any idea, when yours should arrive? I went with the darker dial, as that was my preference, though I suspect, that the legibility on the lighter dial will be better.
fernando, you are very much correct, if you had asked me 8 months ago when it was first announced, if I was going to get one, then my answer would have been a very reluctant NO! As I was not in a position to afford one, but that changed after I was able to sell some pieces.
With regards to the tang buckle, I believe that you are right, as I have not seen any other complicated Patek's on a tang buckle. At first, I thought that it was Patek's way of keeping down the costs (in these current economic times) but when I priced up a 5205G with a deployant, the price worked out virtually the same as the 5396G which does come on a deployant. It maybe something that I shall look into in the future.
But, something worth thinking about, a lot of the Patek Grand Complications, also only come on a tang buckle! Why I don't know??
