Thank you for sharing nice pictures and your story. I have no doubt that service is necessary for good performance of any watch. Very happy to hear that the service standard at Patek remains very high. I just sent two of my watches (5100G and 5167A) for service and will share pictures when I receive them in the next few months. Indeed, Patek charges a very reasonable service fee compared to the level and standard it provides.

P.S. Your 5110P with new strap looks great. 5196 is always one of my favorite designs from Patek, although I don't have it yet.
