Surpised that Patek Philippe went the cut-out, open heart, route...
May 08, 2017,01:28 AM
p.boxster,
Thank you for showing what must be a new model.
The cut-out dial is reminescent of a couple of brands, including one whose factory is in the same industrial estate as Patek Philippe. (A few hundred metres away)
A brand that has been rendered an immediate rival by the use of the open heart dial on this Aquanaut.
I'm guessing there is something to see, that forces the venerable House of Patek Philippe to bare its soul?
This is the equivalent of 'typing capital letters' symbology used on the worldwide web but transposed to haute horlogerie. It must be important for Patek Philippe to demonstrate something so overtly. After all, this is a Calvinist brand that used to hide its tourbillon movements; placed only on the back of the watch and with solid case-backs.
It must be a 'proof of concept' demonstrator to prove a counterpoint about Advanced Research.....
If a mighty oak should fall in the middle of a forest with nobody present, does it make a noise?
Did the dial cut-out encourage your choice?
Regards,
MTF
