When it comes to loving a watch, there is a multitude of factors that come into play. Everyone is different, and there is no right or wrong answer. There is no point in getting on some moral crusade saying this or that is wrong. To some people, rarity matters. That is not wrong. The look of a watch on the wrist. Its movement. The strap contrast. The clarity of the face. Degree of complication. And on and on. It is a composite of many things that makes one love a watch. I love the 5070P and, like some here, its rarity is a part of that process. Now, do i care if there is 100, 200 or 300? Not really. Do i care if it is 1000? Probably as that impinges on one of the factors that I like about the watch. But it doesnt stop me loving the watch. Its just one part of the process.
In terms of rarity, I spent about two weeks looking for this watch. Absolutely one can find it for sale. But it is hardly being offered around. In fact, I found just two places where I could view one. I elected to go for BNIB from a Patek recommended source. The fact that I found one does not negate its rarity at all, any more than being able to find Picassos at auction.
It remains for me one of the most beautiful watches I have ever worn and 100, 200 or 300 .... would still be one of the most beautiful.
