Bought this watch back in 2013/2014.. unbelievable how fast time flies by.. it has been almost 8 years!

I have been using this watch very sparingly but totally stop using since 2017 and it has been sitting in the safe.

I dug it out early last week.. I fallen in love with it all over again!

I wind it up and adjusted to the exact time accordingly to the local radio time ..

Today, 10 days later, I checked, it is +/-0!! Wow!!

This got to be one of the most accurate mechanical watch I own. Never been serviced, 8 years old and still it keeps perfect time!

I just don’t understand why this references is so badly received by some PP collectors and buyers which the market prices has shown. It is great value for money comparing to my 5980/1R and 5711/1A.

I just can’t understand why the Nautilus are so hot!?? I mean technically it is not even comparable to my 5235.

Well, I am happy I own this piece. This is certainly one of my all time favourite PP.

meaningful in that it 1) has a special movement (new when it debuted), 2) first regulator dial for Patek, and 3) lovely brushed dial. Enjoy more often !

Yes! IMHO this is a very special PP.. everything about it is “odd” .. even the frequency is unique at 23040 vph.. 🍻

A great point -- it's definitely a huge bet, as the market works in complicated (and unexpected!) ways and this is not its current direction, but indeed this reference has lots of potential...perhaps when the steel sports hype is over, if ever? ;-))

but the regulator dial is very polarizing. The G is clean and the vertical grain is very visible. The R is more sexy (to me) and has much more contrast with the subdials being black. The movement of this series is spectacular and one of the nicest movemen...

I have seen the R version.. I agree the very first impression is breathtakingly good.. the G is more like plain water.. doesn’t taste much but doesn’t taste bad either if you know what I mean 😆

I really like this reference a lot and would like to add it in the future. As for values, who knows 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️. The purple strap gives it a very cool contrast 👍

Thank you. It is a custom leather strap. I can’t seems to locate a purple strap from PP’s boutique hence I went aftermarket. These are top quality possibly exceed PP’s standard. 😉
