Prefer the white
Nautilus blue is truly exceptional, but my preference for the 5980a is the white. Face and chrono dial being the same color makes the watch overall feel more integrated and seamless. Just my opinion though
Another example is the 5980r, where the face and chrono dial are both black/grey. Here’s a pic of mine yesterday

Interesting data and good points --- it's all of course subjective, but I agree on the beauty/fitness of the white dial on a 5980, and frankly I also like it quite a lot on the 5711 ;-)
The fashion of the moment mostly favors the blue across the board, but these things easily change. A white LE 5712, maybe next summer, might indeed revive interest (and I'd buy it in a second!). Best wishes

The set of people who want a Nautilus but prefer a chronograph and won't buy two different Nautilus watches is
probably much larger than the set of people who would ever consider buying either two Nautilus watches or are buying this watch primarily because it is a chronograph not a Nautilus.
