PP 5231/ 5131 still worth collecting?
Hello, when 5131 first came out these pieces where extremely rare and second hand retail price was three times the list price, now there are so man of them on the market ( preowned unworn ones and used ones) that I wonder if they are still worth collecting, prices also went down signifcantly, "cheaper" now than new list price. Actually 5231G is the only world timer in the PP collection in production as far as the official website listed the watch plus shown only with Asian/ Australian dial.
Ideas?

I prefer largely the 5131 which is more
Rounded, curvy than the 5231 more straight. If you get a good price, it is a watch for a lifetime !
I think these has been relatively stable in terms of asking prices, gray or used, over many many years.

AD and / or Salon do not want to source me 5231G.
Looking at 5131G as I prefer the world dial anyway. I looked at the past 12 months sale at auction fot 5131 and prices are very closed to the 5231G retail one.

Hi Peter, Anita Porchet and her team made the dials for
5131G and then 5131P. She and her team are not involved in 5231s. You can see the difference between 5231 enamel dials vs 5131G & P.

i think the colors on the 5231 line pop more than on 5131, be it R or G. i really prefer the new style. also the details of the maps...

To me, the proper comparison is 5231G vs
5131R which are produced by the same team with similar techniques. Putting them side by side, you would be able to see if improvements have been made.
you are ahead of yourself... 5231R is not out yet, you obviously mean 5231 J and G.
btw, when are we expecting 5231R? next year?
